Bathroom Tile Design

“Bathroom Tile Design”

The right bathroom tile design for your bathroom. The right bathroom tile design can turn a regular old bath into a spa-like retreat. There are a variety of styles and options that appeal to a number of different tastes as well as a number of different budgets. Three common bathroom tile designs include the classic harlequin pattern, natural stones with marble accents and traditional tiles with splashes of patterns and colors.

The harlequin pattern is a true classic. Basically, a bathroom tile design that boasts a harlequin motif is arranged as diamonds rather than squares. The tiles tend to be a little longer and the pattern resembles a mime’s costume in a way. You can opt for this classic design in just about any combination of colors from earthy tones to bright reds.

I personally like a harlequin bathroom tile design in black and white. The diamond shape of the pattern really yields well to the stark contrast of the extreme colors. The bath looks sparkling clean and shiny. Adding a chrome tub and shower faucet to the mix will give the area a fresh, shimmering glow which is ideal for the bath area.

Some people are not too crazy about all of that shimmer and shine. Fingerprints and water marks can be real issues when using such materials on a daily basis. It is important to consider how much time you have to commit to polishing your bathroom tile design before making a purchase.

Natural stone tiles for the bathroom are perfect for those of us who dislike polishing away water marks. Adding a nice brushed stainless steel tub and shower faucet in the bathroom tile design would make the perfect accent to the natural stone. Those who want to spend a little more on the bathroom tile design can opt for beautiful marble accents that pull the whole look together.

Anyone who has shopped for bathroom tiles knows that some materials and patterns can be very expensive. You can work around this expense by using reasonably priced material as the foundation for your bathroom tile design. Add a little character and spark with more expensive tiles here and there. You get a rich look at a fraction of the cost.

No matter what bathroom tile design you choose you probably want to consider investing in a professional for installation. I know that you can save a lot of money by doing it yourself but you may find that you waste more time and material if you are not familiar with the process. Bringing your bathroom tile design to life is not a job for a novice.

How to Get Rid of Bathroom Mold

Filed under: Bathroom Mold, How to Get Rid of Bathroom Mold — Tags: , — admin @ 5:05 pm

“Bathroom Mold”

How to get rid of bathroom mold from your bathroom surfaces and shower.  I’ve always been pretty militant about cleaning my home. I even have a laminated schedule and checklist detailing exactly which rooms are to be cleaned, vacuumed, dusted, and mopped each day. That’s why I was absolutely horrified to discover that I have a problem with bathroom mold. This unsightly black fungus was growing all over the caulking in my shower area, and looked as though it would just keep spreading. I had heard about how tough it was to get rid of a bathroom mold problem that was allowed to get out of hand, so I decided to take care of things right away.

First I tried all the home remedies recommended by bathroom mold removal experts. Some of these experts recommended treating the affected area with bleach. Others recommended spraying undiluted vinegar on the problem spots. Still others advised attacking the bathroom mold with a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water. I followed their directions very carefully and waited patiently for the results. Unfortunately, none of those remedies helped put an end to my bathroom mold misery.

Since I didn’t want spores spreading to other parts of my home, I had no choice left but to call in a professional for testing and abatement. A professional would be able to use sophisticated equipment to assess the extent of damage that my bathroom mold has already caused, and to determine such things as the level of moisture in my walls and the quantity of spores in the air. Based on the data collected, the bathroom mold removal professional would then select the best course of action for eliminating the problem.

I’d never had to deal with bathroom mold before, so I didn’t exactly know which companies or service professionals were reputable, nor did I know what kind of prices I could expect to be charged. I went online to do a bit of research, and was fortunately able to come across a wealth of information on these subjects. I even found a website that could help me get in touch with bathroom mold removal experts in my area, so I was able to call several different companies to compare prices and services.

It’s been about a week since my house was treated, and I am relieved to say that the bathroom mold seems to be under control. The visible manifestations of the problem have been removed, so I’m no longer grossed out every time I step into the shower. The service professional also took steps to prevent a return of the problem, which included educating me about what I can do to reduce the amount of moisture in the air and inhibit bathroom mold growth. Let’s hope I never have to go through this ordeal again!

The Best Bathroom Shower Curtains

Filed under: Bathroom Shower Curtains — Tags: , — admin @ 4:55 pm

Bathroom Shower Curtains

The best bathroom shower curtains for your bathroom.  A shower is one of the most delightful luxuries of the modern world. This is not idle hyperbole. We all have the opportunity to have hot water cascading down on us with soothing and powerful pressure whenever we want, and for as long as we want. It is as if we all have our own private tropical waterfalls. People put a great amount of effort into getting the perfect bathroom shower curtains. They will get shower loofahs, Egyptian cotton washcloths, salon hair care products, exfoliating soap, and many other items. With all of the effort that people spend on getting the right products for their shower, you would expect bathroom shower curtains to take a higher priority. And yet, my experience as an interior designer shows me that this is not the case. The bathroom shower curtain is usually just thrown on as an afterthought.

I suppose that this is understandable. After all, the bathroom shower curtain is not something that you actually use in your shower. You do not rub the bathroom shower liner against your skin. You do not put it in your hair. You only touch it to open and close it at the beginning and end of your shower. Nonetheless, having the perfect bathroom shower curtain is important. After all, showers have two purposes. The primary purpose is cleanliness, and the bathroom shower curtain makes very little difference in whether or not you get clean. All it does is keep water from getting on the floor. The other point of the shower – and the reason that people put so much effort into getting the right shower products – is relaxation. You will find that the bathroom shower curtain plays a key role in relaxation.

The bathroom shower curtain that you use, after all, is bound to set a certain mood. Most bathrooms shower curtains are semi transparent. Light goes through them, creating a relaxing glow. If you have a bathroom shower curtain that has soothing pictures on it, such as a gentle undersea scene, it will enhance relaxation. If, on the other hand, your bathroom shower curtain shows something brighter and flashier, it will help to wake you up. People don’t understand how much their environment affects their mood, but the shower is the perfect place to explore this phenomena. After all, you can change the way that the shower looks by simply spending 10 dollars on a new bathroom shower curtain. You’ll be amazed at the difference!

Ideas for Remodeling Small Bathrooms

Ideas for Remodeling Small Bathrooms

Ideas for Remodeling Small Bathrooms and how to make your small bathroom seem larger.  With the high cost of building materials and construction, modern homes are downsized versions of turn-of-the-century Victorians and old Plantation mansions. Rooms are getting smaller, and this includes the bathroom. Today’s home decorator often needs plenty of ideas to maximize the look and functionality of a small bathroom.

Decorating a small bathroom is not your Mission Impossible. A small bathroom decorating project can be inexpensive, relatively quick and lots of fun.

To get yourself focused, here are some of the primary Ideas for Remodeling Small Bathrooms ….

Use design features and optical illusion techniques to make the small bathroom appear larger, without sacrificing style. A narrow bathroom will look wider with walls painted in light shades. Mirrors are a boon to the small bathroom. Strategically placed, a mirror can double the size visually. Mirrors on facing walls can increase the illusion. Lighting is another important tool. Track and other directional lighting contributes to ambiance while reducing shadows in corners. Window treatments of lightweight fabrics create a light airy look which serves to visually open the space. Windows not visible from the outside to general public view may use a simple fish tail valance, thus letting in even more light. Wooden white louvers or levelors allow light through when your window faces your neighbor or the street.

Look for unused space. It’s always there but often overlooked. Multi- functional use of space can really open up that small space. For example, many older homes have the water heater sitting there big as you please, unattractive and hiding a lot of wasted space. Typically tucked into the corner closest to the water line, you can kill two birds with one stone. A simple plywood cabinet can be built around the water heater, incorporating corner shelves above the water heater to hold towels. If the uppermost shelf is too high to reach easily, use the space to showcase a display of dried flowers in a pretty vase. Upper shelves may also be used for little used toiletries, or medicines you don’t want to keep away from children.

Other techniques used to maximize functional and visual space include organizational tricks. Brass towel ladders look great against light walls and give you all the space you need for towels and washcloths while taking up little space. Above-toilet space is often a blank expanse of unused wall space. A rattan or wicker etagere, hung above the toilet can hold toilet paper, shampoos and commonly used items like lotions or razors. These handy shelves can also hold trailing plants, using no floorspace but adding interest and style.

For the last word on small bathroom projects, limit decorations to larger pieces with impact. A single wall hanging will contribute more to overall style than a big collection of knick-knacks. Avoid clutter.

Bathroom Decorating Ideas Give New Life To An Old Space

“Bathroom Decorating Ideas”

Bathroom Decorating Ideas Give New Life To An Old Space. Home decoration is now a big industry and this is very true when it comes to the bathroom; time redecorating is well spent as this can be a truly relaxing room for a short period every day. With the amount of time we spend in this room why shouldn’t it look and feel relaxing and an enjoyable? After all, if you are spending about half an hour a day in the room, why shouldn’t it be more relaxing?

As a bonus, your bathroom decorating ideas can really be used to impress your friends and neighbors, they will know when they see how you have implemented your designs that you care about your home. There isn’t much point in spending thousands of dollars making other rooms pleasant to live in if you are going to leave your bathroom in a state of poor decoration.

Of course, many of the bathroom decorating ideas that you use can be drawn from the things that you do with the rest of the house. In this instance, you may have a home that has many small tables placed around it with plants on them, well, why not extend this very simple idea to your bathroom. If you have a table with a shelf underneath, why not place a few selected magazines of books on there to really set the tone.

If your designs work well and are different to the rest of your home, then why not use them around the house in other rooms. Let’s say you have used a particular design of tile in your bathroom; then why not try using it elsewhere like the kitchen or other en-suites bathrooms.
bathroom decorating ideas
Fortunately many of the white tile designs in kitchens are no longer popular so colorful and traditional tiles can be used in other areas of the home including the kitchen, with equal effect. Of course, bathroom decorating ideas might start with tiles on the floor and sink, but they do not end their.

Simple things that often get overlooked but can be visually appealing are soap dispensers and soap dishes. Some home decoration periodicals have sections on making items for you home including soap dishes and trays.

In fact, a number of magazines have illustrated how to make a soap tray or dish out of common clay. Other great ideas include positioning a calming picture or print opposite the bath like a lake, seascape or landscape for example. With the materials and information available today, there is no excuse not to turn your bathroom into something very special.

Bath Body and Spa Products

“Bath Body and Spa Products”

Bath Body and Spa Products can do wonders for your skin, leaving it soft to the touch. Bath Body and Spa Products come in many shapes and styles. Whether you like a light, fruity scent or a heavy, musky fragrance you can be sure that there is a product that will suit your needs. Following are some new classics in Bath Body and Spa Products that you can find in a number of different stores.

Of course, the very first thing that pops into most people’s minds when they think of Bath Body and Spa Products is soap. This versatile product can be found in retail stores and specialty stores. Quality soaps can even be found in you local drugstore or supermarket.

Soap is one of the most valuable bath and body products because it is the foundation of the whole bathing process. Many of us use other items in the bath but we usually do in addition to a good, old-fashioned bar of soap. Today’s items come in a seemingly endless number of fragrances and colors.

Bubble bath is another must-have among Bath Body and Spa Products. Nothing is more relaxing than a nice, hot bubble bath. You can find a plethora of aromas and this product promises to leave you feeling clean and smooth in the process. Even the containers used to hold bubble bathing soaps are really attractive. This is a winner all the way around.

Many of us want the feel of bubble bath but we just don’t have time to soak in the tub. Bath gels are wonderful options that can be used right in the shower. These Bath Body and Spa Products offer the aroma that their bubble counterparts do but you don’t have to spend a long time to get the same effect.

Those of us who do have some time to devote to a spa treatment may want to consider taking a day to exfoliate and moisturize by using some of the newer Bath Body and Spa Products on the market. Not only do these items get rid of dead skin and leave you skin glowing some can even reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Cellulite creams are among the most popular newer Bath Body and Spa Products on the market but many women are afraid that they are a waste of money. You know that your money is well spent by looking at the ingredients. If the product contains seaweed or caffeine, you have a winner.

Bath Body and Spa Products have come a long way over the years. Today’s options offer many benefits that were not possible years ago. No matter how much has changed, none of the bath and body products stand up to good, old-fashioned soap.

High Pressure Shower Head

High Pressure Shower Head

A High Pressure Shower Head can be a great way to start your day or a relaxing way to end your days work. You may not realize that you have one until you have to do without it. It may seem like a simple thing, but you will find that you can’t do without it once you get used to have it. Showering is part of the grooming rituals most of us do every single day, and getting clean is something that we all take seriously. When it comes to taking a shower, you have to have a high pressure shower head if you want to feel your cleanest. If you don’t, you may end up with flat hair and skin that feels funky because the soap may have not been washed off.

Many places are replacing their high pressure shower head showers with lower pressure models. This is not good. You may find this in apartment buildings, college dorms, or in the hotels you stay in when you travel. If you can get by with low pressure and feel refreshed when you step out of the shower, you don’t have anything to worry about. For me, however, this is a huge problem. I have thick, naturally curly hair, and if I don’t have a high pressure shower head, I can never get all of the cleaning product out of my hair.

body-wash-2.jpg

I also find that my skin seems to have film on it if I don’t have a high pressure shower head when I take my daily shower. It just seems that without the pressure, the soap just won’t come off my skin like it should. It’s almost like feeling unclean after a shower, and it always makes me feel like I need to take another one. If I find myself faced with anything other than a high pressure shower head, I skip washing my hair for that day because I know I am better off.

If you want a high pressure shower head, you can still find them almost anywhere you buy home improvement items. Though they may not be as popular because people want to conserve water, there are many people like me who won’t use anything else. I don’t feel bad, as I know the water in my community is plentiful. My view may change if we are put under drought conditions. I’m not that selfish! I’m practical. I know that if I don’t have the pressure, I am going to stay in the shower longer trying to get the shampoo and conditioner to rinse out of my hair properly, and in the end, I won’t have saved any water anyway.

Bathroom Decoration Ideas

Bathroom Decoration Ideas

Bathroom Decoration Ideas to turn your bathroom into luxury. There are so many Bathroom Decoration Ideas, that it is really a shame to have a drab and unappealing look to this room. Think about it. We all spend a good bit of time in the bathroom every day, so why not use a few Bathroom Decoration Ideas to spice it up a bit, and make it a more appealing place to hang out in. It makes perfect sense, if you ask me. Your Bathroom Decoration Ideas will ensure that every trip to the bathroom is a pleasant one, and that you come out of it more relaxed and satisfied than before. As a bonus, your Bathroom Decoration Ideas can really be used to impress your friends. They will know when they see how you have implemented your Bathroom Decoration Ideas that you care about your house. Everyone takes the time to make the living room and kitchen look fine, but who really bothers with the bathroom. If you do, it will show everyone what a high-quality home-maker you are!

Of course, many of the Bathroom Decoration Ideas that you use can be drawn from the things that you do with the rest of the house. For example, if a nice low table looks good in the hallway, it will look positively elegant in the bathroom. You can use it for magazines and catalogs to give your restroom that restful touch that really makes life a little better. Similarly, you can apply your Bathroom Decoration Ideas  back to the rest of your house. Why not take that colorful tile that you have used on the bathroom sink into the kitchen. It sure can provide a welcome alternative to the bland, white look so popular in kitchen sinks.

Of course, Bathroom Decoration Ideas might start with tiles on the floor and sink, but they do not end their. Beside the tiles, there are many creative things that you can do with the soap and the soap trays. Many guides to bathroom decorating tips suggest that you make your own soap trays. One of the best Bathroom Decoration Ideas I ever read was to make them out of clay. That way, you can make them easily, and fashion them into whatever shape your heart desires. And of course, another of the great Bathroom Decoration Ideas is to put something relaxing opposite the toilet, such as a picture of a boat floating on a quiet lake.

Luxury Bath Towels

Luxury Bath Towels

Luxury bath towels are a must for the bathroom that is often overlooked. These fine details make any home’s bathing area into a retreat that is as appealing to the touch as it is the eye. It is remarkable how many of us settle for less than the best when it comes to this kind of essential.

You spend a lot of time browsing through various bathroom decoration ideas to find just the right look. You also spend a lot of money on the cutting edge renovations required to update the area as well. Why not invest in luxury bath towels to complete the project correctly?

We can all relate to the scene: it is early in the morning and you are in a nice, hot shower. The water is so relaxing that it seems to wash away all of the stressors and tensions you have and wash them down the drain. Preparing for your day is a double-edged sword.

The unpleasant notion of stepping out of the shower into the cold air is pretty much unbearable. Then you remember your luxury bath towels that are so soft and comfortable that they make you wonder why you are standing under a stupid stream of water.

Making the transition from hot shower to the rest of your early morning routine is much more appealing when you have luxury bath towels at you disposal. These items can make your morning preparation a little more pleasant.

They also serve to make unwinding in the evening a little extra special as well. Nothing is more relaxing than a hot soak in the tub after a strenuous day. You have created the perfect atmosphere by choosing just the right bathroom decorating ideas. Topping off the environment with luxury bath towels that are as pleasing to the touch as they are to the eye only makes sense.

You spend time finding great bathroom decorating ideas and you put effort into using them. Adding luxury bath towels that are offered in a wide array of colors that suit any décor is the next logical step to making your bath time a truly luxurious experience.

While these examples may seem a little dramatic, they serve to illustrate how the smallest detail can make all the difference. The little things in life can bring us great pleasure and they are relatively inexpensive. Adding simple elements like luxury bath towels will cost a few dollars more in your bathroom decoration budget but they are worth each and every penny.
